Lying is Bad - Um-Kay?

Doc: I met my girlfriend online and we've been together for about 3 months (we're both in our 30's.) When we first started going out, I was dating another girl from online too. I was not attracted to this other girl romantically but thought she could be a friend. The problem is I lied to my girlfriend several times when I hung out with this other girl because I didn't want my girlfriend to worry. I never crossed the line with this other girl.

Turn Her into a "Social Butterfly"

Hey Doc: I've been dating someone recently and am really starting to like her. Unfortunately due to our different work schedules we have been limited to what we do however my schedule has begun to open up a bit and I would like to spend more time with her.

The Older Woman

Hey Doc: I'm 21 years old and this girl that I've been talking to is turning 28 pretty soon. This girl has been really down on the dumps with personal problems, losing family members, etc. and we've been keeping each other "company" if you will.

My Boyfriend is a Loser!

I'm 27 and my boyfriend is 26, we've been going together for 7 years, but quite honestly the last few years have not been good and this summer I really started distancing myself from him.

The Problem with Dating Farm Animals

My boyfriend is filthy! In his bathroom the dust and dirt has just accumulated over the year I've known him. He doesn't empty his garbage; even when it gets full he just keeps throwing stuff in the pile. I've even watched him throw something on the floor by the garbage can because that is where the rest have started to fall anyway.

Marriage and Religion

Good afternoon Dr. Neder, I have a girlfriend and she and I are in love. Almost everything is perfect - almost. We would really like to get married soon but there is a very subtle and fragile thing that seems to hinder the relationship and seeks to destroy it: Our religious beliefs.

Sexless Relationship, Missing Boyfriend

Dear Dennis, I met this incredible guy 6 months ago. He and I have much in common; we both work two jobs and I have two small children. Needless to say, our time is limited. We have not had sex yet because, (mostly by his request), we wanted to really get to know each other first instead of confusing our feelings by being sexual too early. While it is not sexual, it is very intimate.

Can You Love If You Don't 'Like'?

Hi Dr. Dennis, hoping you can lend some advice on this for me! I had been dating a girl I attend school with for the last six months. Unfortunately we were both at different places, she wasn't ready for a serious relationship and I was all too ready. We tried to take it slow but ended up damaging each other with fighting, insecurity and harsh words.

When NOT To Get Married

Dear Dr. Neder, I am a 23-year-old woman engaged to marry a wonderful 28-year-old man in a few months. We have been dating mostly long distance for about 4 years, but throughout that time I have had several other "flings" and even one somewhat serious relationship. He knows about all of these indiscretions, and I have been faithful for the past 9 months.

From "Sensitive" To "Masculine" In 4 Easy Lessons

Dr. Neder, I've been an idiot for a long time. Raised by an single mother from three to ten I was told all sorts of backward ideas on how to be a man in a relationship. You know the ones: be sensitive, put her on a pedestal, and on and on. This, combined with being a bookworm and extremely shy made it hard to gain confidence.

I Don't Want To Look Like An Idiot!

Hey Doc! I work with this girl I really like and I talk to her every time we have a chance. She is the reason why I still stay at my job. She is funny and she makes me have a fun time whenever we work together, but I don't know if she likes me.

Is It Time To Move In Together?

Dear Dr. Neder: This seems silly to me, but I am always in favor of a second opinion. My boyfriend of 1 ½ years and I are considering moving in together. Well, I suggested it and now it is on the table. I do want our relationship to progress but I also want to know if we are wasting our time. A year and a half seems like a long time.

Stop The Madness!

Doc: I dated this lady on and off for ten years because of relationships she had throughout our relationship. I was married and in law school when I met her and she was going through a divorce but because I enjoyed her company I spent a lot of time with her.

Dealing With The Self-Centered Guy

Hi, I've been dating a guy exclusively for about two months. We like each other very much, and have a great time when we're together. The first few weeks that we were together, I felt that he was perfect, because he has all the qualities I look for in a man.
